Dr David is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Fellow Member of Engineers Australia (FIAust) with 25 years of experience in civil engineering. He is a Technical Director, Tunnelling with Aurecon and the Vice-Animateur for the Working Group 12 - Sprayed Concrete of the International Tunnelling Association.

His most recent project experience, both in tunnelling and in the application of shotcrete, includes the Westconnex M8, Westconnex M4-M8, Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power (UK), Sydney Metro West  Central Tunnelling Package, and the Western Harbour Tunnel Package 2.
