Shotcrete has become established as an essential component of most underground space development. Recent years have seen a large increase in the amount of shotcrete used for civil infrastructure in Australia. The volume of work and demands for sustainability and price control have presented new challenges for suppliers, contractors and specifiers involved with this material.

The evolution of shotcrete technology, together with the large number of new people entering the industry, has highlighted the need for an update on new products, processes and methods related to shotcrete application.

In response, the Australian Shotcrete Society has organised a one-day workshop to be held on 12 November 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Adelaide. The workshop will cover developments in shotcrete for ground support in Australia. The format will include lectures covering the essentials of shotcrete technology, followed by a presentation on the new Guideline for Shotcrete Quality Control. There will be six lectures with extended discussion breaks.
